Nature Journaling Workshop

Ruth Hamilton, Expressive Arts Counselor, presents the first in the “Tools for the Inner Journey Series,” on connecting to nature through exploring, journaling, and drawing. The interactive workshop opens your eyes to nature all around you. All levels of artistic experience are welcome. You sketch natural objects, take a nature walk, and learn drawing and mixed media techniques.
Ruth Hamilton has trained with Margy O’Brien, Albuquerque, NM. Margy is an illustrator of nature books. Bring a blank book and art supplies. Art materials are available. Fee: $25.
Sat., Sept. 10am-2pm, Nature Field Trip at 4007 Redwood Road, Durham, NC 27704 (Ruth’s home). We will also visit the near-by Cedar Creek Gallery near Falls Lake. Salad provided. Love offering requested with proceeds going to a women’s clinic in Nepal that Ruth is working with.

    Duke University Medical Center, Durham, NCHelps patients cope with the psychological problems of living with cancer through a variety of activities, emphasizing humor, including use of the Laugh Mobile. Patients are invited to use humorous books, audio/video tapes and "gag items" (e.g. hats, wigs, etc.) Volunteers offer humor intervention visits to patients on a weekly basis.
